After a lot of hard work and even more painting, we hosted a Kennel Open day and Puppy Show at the Kennels in August. About 80 people turned out on what was a very pleasant afternoon.
After a few drinks were had, we all settled down to see what the three classes had to offer.
First were the dog hounds, and after much deliberation by our two judges Mr R. Lewis (Ex Master the Glamorgan Hunt) and Mr R. May (Huntsman Berks and Bucks Drag Hounds), Llandilo Foiler was choosen as Champion Doghound.
Then it was the turn of the bitches, where SC&S Logic was crowned champion bitch. Finally the Championship was award to Llandilo Foiler.
Many thanks to Colin who brought his hounds down from Wales for the show, and to our judges who did a splendid job of sorting out the hounds. After the 'professionals' had finished, we hosted a class for the assembled to judge. This was won by Miss Anne Sophie Schkeneder who judged the hounds closest to the order the Judges had agreed on.
This was followed by our hound auction the results of which are below.....
Lot 1. Fiddler - Mr Terry Vasey
Lot 2. Ripple - Mr Mike van Oostrum
Lot 3. Ballard - Miss Anne Sophie Schkeneder
Lot 4. Ramsey - Mr Stuart McTaggart
Lot 5. Gravity - Mr Rob Champness
Lot 6. Lotion - Mr Barry Siefert
Lot 7. Maverick - Mr Bob Creed Miles
Lot 8. Chalk - Mr James Mitchell MDH
....... at the end of the season two trophies will be awarded, one to the successful bidder for the Best Working Hound and one to the successful bidder for the Hound which has done the most days during the season.
Soon after we all ajourned for tea on the lawn. So a really happy and enjoyable summers afternoon.
