My name is Cherry Vasey and I edit the tapes. They are then available for you at the
end of the season and all proceeds go to the Hunt’s finances.
At every Meet of the season there are at least one or two video cameras at strategic
jumps on each line. We do the Meet, all Lines if possible, sometimes the hounds at work
and if there is anyone who falls off or refuses it’s Bingo for us all! So do try to
smile for the camera as you come galloping by.
When you come to a Littlefield Farm Meet, we show the season so far (uncut) which is
shown at teatime after hunting.
These tapes can be very useful to riders with "baby" or "novice" horses let alone
riders who are a "bit nervous". You can see improvement from one day to another. It is
also handy to see where the Lines go and what sort of country to expect. You can see by
the date on the screen where we are at any time. They can become collector’s items!
So, remember to look at the camera when approaching at full speed with nonchalant
abandon. I have to admit though that it is far more fun to see someone coming towards
me, in top gear – toes down – legs straight – arms bent – reins like knitting wool and
yelling, "Whoaaaa...!!" Oh the cameras also record sound, just think about it!
